Spruce Up Your Smile

with Our Teeth Whitening Options

Sometimes a simple teeth whitening is all it takes to get a proud smile. At Dodds Dental, we offer both in-office and take-home options. If you choose our Opalescence® Boost for a brighter smile, one of our dentists will use professional grade tools and bleaching agents to get your smile as white as possible. If you opt for our custom take-home trays, you can brighten your smile in the comfort of your own home. Either way, you’ll be thrilled with the results! Call us today to set up an appointment.

What’s the Difference?

Professional vs. Over-the-Counter

Many people ask if there is really a difference between professional whitening products and over-the-counter strips. While most whitening products use the same bleaching agents and peroxides, professional grade whitening is more beneficial for a few reasons. With professional in-office whitening services, results are visible immediately and you can brighten your smile up to 10 shades in just an hour. Additionally, our custom trays and gentle care will ensure that your gums stay safe throughout treatment. Call us today to learn more about our whitening services!

What Can I Expect

From In-Office Teeth Whitening?

The in-office teeth whitening treatment usually takes an hour or two, depending on your level of staining. One treatment is enough for most patients to get a bright, white smile, while others may require two appointments to reverse severe stains.

The process begins by cleaning your teeth. Then, one of our dentists will place dental retractors to keep your cheeks, lips and tongue away from the whitener, and apply a protective compound to your gums to keep them from becoming irritated by the whitening compound.

Then, Dr. Emily or Dr. Dustin Dodds will apply the whitening gel to your teeth, activate it using a UV light to excite the compound, and leave it in place for a few minutes. After this, the whitener will be rinsed away and this process will be repeated until we’ve achieved the desired results.

The entire procedure is fast, non-invasive, and will cause you absolutely no pain or discomfort.
You can improve your smile by up to 5 or more shades in just a single visit, so this is a great option if you want to whiten your teeth quickly for a special occasion or event.

What Can I Expect

From Take-Home Whitening?

Take-home whitening starts with a quick appointment at our office. One of our dentists will take impressions of your teeth, then send them to a dental lab where a set of custom-fitted whitening trays will be created.

You’ll come back to pick up your whitening trays, and we’ll also give you a few tubes of a professional whitening compound, as well as instructions for whitening your teeth. Then, you’ll begin treatment in the comfort of your own home. Usually, you’ll wear the whitening trays for about an hour per day for 2-3 weeks.

By the end of your treatment, your teeth will look bright and beautiful. One of the biggest benefits of take-home whitening is that your results will be subtle. Your teeth will be whitened over a period of a few weeks, which makes the treatment less obvious to others, which some patients prefer when whitening their teeth.
